This morning, this story has just been playing in my mind. I heard it somewhere and I can’t remember if it is a true life story or not.

It was about this guy (let’s call him Stephen).
When Stephen was born, someone gave his mom a word of prophecy that he was a special baby. He was going to serve the Lord and do great stuff.

So the mom did all she could to raise Stephen in church, always telling him that he was special to God and he would do great things for God. But somehow, Stephen still strayed. This guy literally removed his hands from God’s troziz and anything that concerned heavenly race and just went in the opposite direction.

Many, many years later, while living the life of a baddie ( I’m paraphrasing 😂😂), Stephen had a ghastly accident. Everyone involved died, but for some weird reason, he survived. His case was complicated though. He had to spend many excruciating months in the hospital.

A lot of people came to visit Stephen and his family, but one visit marked the turning point of his life. An old friend from his childhood church was driving through the hospital one evening and decided to stop by to see Stephen’s mother. He had a female friend with him and he begged her to accompany him for the visit. The female friend didn’t know anything about the visit, what had happened or who they were going to visit. She just followed because the person driving had begged her to accompany him.

However, when they got to Stephen’s room, the lady started screaming Stephen’s name with excitement. Everyone was shocked. She had never met Stephen before. Stephen had never met her before. How did she know him?

So it turns out, that a week before Stephen’s accident, the lady had a dream that she met a guy named Stephen at a work event and they got talking. One thing led to another and she led this Stephen guy to Christ. Then she never saw him again until one day, she saw him on TV, preaching. When she woke up, she didn’t think much about the dream because it didn’t make sense to her. But she remembered the face because the guy in the dream was handsome. She thought if he was a real person he could pass for her husband. She never imagined she was actually going to meet this person in real life.

Stephen burst into tears. The day he had the accident, he had been driving to an event – A work conference that this lady also attended. He had been living his life carelessly, running away from ministry, but somehow, against all odds, prophecy found him.

The lady prayed with him, led him to Christ and left. Stephen started his journey in Christ. His childhood friend became his mentor. Interesting things started happening to him.

First, he left the hospital about three months later, with a clean bill of health, almost like nothing ever happened.

Second, he almost ran the hospital out of business. They had to chase him home because he kept healing all their patients.

Third, his life just took a dramatic change for the better. He became a minister of the gospel, helping others come to the saving grace of Christ, devoted to terrorising the kingdom of darkness.

The lady who led him to Christ seemed to have vanished into thin air. They had exchanged contact but somehow they lost touch. Stephen tried looking for her but couldn’t find her. He kept praying to God to meet her again, to thank her for leading him to Christ.

And he met her again, abroad, on one of his trips where he was invited by a church to minister in a church.

The lady had been invited by a friend. She didn’t even know who would be preaching, she had just popped in because she didn’t want to dishonour her friend.

She saw Stephen on the TV of the church, preaching the gospel 😂😂😂. After service, she ran to say hi. The second part of her dream just came to pass. They never lost touch again after that 😂😂😂 In fact, they got married to make sure of it. Between the two of them, over a million people found Christ and found purpose.

Commentary

– It’s easy to think that God afflicted Stephen with the car accident to get his attention. But no, God doesn’t do such. He is a consistently good Father. Even in Stephen’s error and poor life choices, mercy still found him.

– Satan tried to abort Stephen’s destiny and failed. May Satan always fail in our lives.

– In Jesus, even in dead situations, beauty can still come forth.

– Be dreaming, e get why 😂😂

– You never know who God will use you to bless. You never know how far your “small prayer” will go. Just always be a blessing to others.

– It pays to serve Jesus. Always.

– God can never mismanage your life. If you give him your life, he will take care of you.

– God is forever a good God.
