Dear Believer,

There are three things I want to talk about today.

1. God is for you.

As I was reading Apostle Emmanuel Iren’s book on prayer this morning, I saw this part about God being in us and for us and it reminded me about Pastor Nkechi Ene’s sermon at the World Believers Convention (WOFBEC) two years ago. Here is what she said (and I paraphrase)

As believers, our interaction with God must always start from a place of He is good. God is good. He always is. He is good to you.

GOD IS FOR YOU!

This was a powerful realization for me. Prior to that sermon, I had lost someone and I couldn’t get over the fact that God had allowed it happen. I kept trying to find a reasonable explanation to ease the pain and in a way, I slipped into believing that sometimes God kills good people for no reason … If I had heard that sermon earlier, I would have saved myself from some serious head and heart aches.

If we remembered this fact, we would be spared from a lot of soul-wrenching conversations and guessing games. Also, knowing that God is always good and is always for us helps our faith, especially on days and at times we don’t understand what’s going on. We can hold on to trusting Him, we can hang on and hope for a better tomorrow. We can truly believe that He won’t waste our lives.

I just want to encourage you today, God is for you. He is on your side. Life might not make sense at the moment, but it will eventually, because God is for you. He won’t let you waste.

2. Over-sabi no get benefit.

In plain english: There’s no benefit in being a busy-body.

There are some certain class of believers I don’t understand – the ones who think they’re wiser than God and understand life more than Him, and as such, add to His instructions.

It’s like a fresh graduate, newly employed to work at a multi-billion company, telling the owner of the company that he or she knows the business more and can do it better than the owner … that is how some believers deal with God when it comes to church attendance and physical fellowship.

If God, in His majestic wisdom, established the church/fellowship with the brethren for our edification and growth, gave you the gift of men to make your work with Him easier, why don’t you go to church?

What is your excuse really?

Again, I saw a really profound line in the Pray Book and here is a screenshot below to muse on:

3. Blood on your hands –

Fam, don’t be the reason someone falls away / chooses not to believe in this amazing God that we are opportune to call Father. Live your life and conduct your affairs in a way that make others desire what you have, desire to commit to God. People are watching you FR. Most importantly, God is watching you. If you want to do this life with Him, do it well. Let’s do it well.
